Peer Teaching Society produces free resources to aid medical students in their studies. All resources are made by students for students. Therefore, we cannot hold responsibility or liability for the content published on this website and its accuracy.
Who are we? Founded in 2008, The University of Sheffield Peer Teaching Society comprises a group of medical students interested in developing their teaching skills, in order to benefit their peers. The GMC’s Good Medical Practice states that all doctors must be prepared to contribute to the teaching and training of doctors and students. The opportunity to develop these teaching skills however can be difficult to come by in medical school. We aim to change that by coordinating a diverse array of peer-to-peer learning activities through all medical undergraduate stages. Who better to pass down their wisdom and knowledge than your fellow students in the years above? Check out our phases and revision sections for helpful resources written by your peers, for you! Our resources are available to all University of Sheffield medical students, as well as students from other medical schools. To find out more about our team, please visit the Committee page and the Contact Us page where you will find all our social media information.
What do we do?
Peer Teaching Society offers a range of events throughout the academic year to support you through your time at medical school. There will be end-of-module and anatomy wrap-up sessions to help you revise and test yourself on the material. These also give you the opportunity to speak to students in senior years if you have any questions. Near exam time, we will be running topic-organised revision sessions for all phases and producing mock exam questions (written by fellow students); these will ensure you are well-prepared for your exams! We are also very active on our social media platforms, and regularly post a range of fun, interesting and informative resources and videos. Our Facebook and Instagram pages are used to post weekly questions with answers, and this year we are developing our TikTok account, with hopes of posting some new, exciting, medicine-related content to educate our peers in a more engaging way.
What will you find on our website?
Here you will find a variety of teaching and learning resources produced by medical students at Sheffield for their peers, including:
Powerpoint slides from recap and revision sessions which were previously delivered
Mock examination questions to help students prepare for their exams
General information and advice from students regarding different aspects of the Sheffield medical school’s curriculum
All our resources are organised under the ‘Phases’ tab, so just find the phase you are in under this tab and you will have access to all of our resources for your stage of learning! We hope you find these useful!
